Baby Dean

We were 10 days late, but we did it!  Dean was born Sunday morning the 22nd at 9:07.  It was a nice labor and delivery.  Mommy and baby are doing great with daddy doing just as good.

Ultrasound/NST

On Thursday I was a week late.  My doctor wanted to be safe and so he set us up with an ultrasound and a Non Stress Test.

The Ultrasound was just to check to make sure the water in my uterus was fine.  Since they were there, they also checked the umbilical cord beat to make sure all was well with that.  We regret to say that everything was fine and it looks like we have a healthy baby.  We say regret because if things weren't okay we would have gone and gotten induced that same day.

Next was the Non Stress Test.  What they do is hook those little heartbeat things around my tummy and watch the baby's heartbeat.  He has to have 2 accelerated heartbeats in 20 minutes.  I don't know why, but i guess that is good.  He did it perfectly AND kicked a lot!  The nurse says that we have one healthy happy baby!

So with all of this GOOD stuff we get to go home in our snow storm and wait for Mr. Dean to decide to show up or wait 'til Monday.  As we're sitting getting gas I start thinking about how Heavenly Father and this little guy MUST have a plan for when he is supposed to get here.  We had no power at our home and the road to and from our house was HORRIBLE.  Maybe their plan was to wait for all of this weather to pass so when Dean can come into the world it will be safer for him and for us.  No treacherous drive, no freezing nights, no wondering if the generator will last before the power can come back on.  Yes, I am 9 days late now and the power is back on, but roads are WORSE than what they were before and I had to do laundry before this little gets here.

All in all, everything is okay.  Monday is still our set date to go and get induced and if everything goes according to plan, Dean will be here on Tuesday the 24th, happy and healthy with a warm home to come home to.

Steve and I are ANXIOUSLY waiting, but we feel this is good.  I don't want to be induced, but Steve likes the finality of it and I just want to meet this little man, who from our ultrasound picture on Thursday looks like he has a Wilcox nose.  I just want to know!  I will keep you all updated as best as I can.  From what I hear, going from 2 to 3 kids is REALLY hard.  But I can't wait for that adventure to begin!

40+ weeks

Went on saw the doctor today.  I'm still not dilated.  But oh well.  We set up lots of appointments and we have an induction date set.

My induction date is Monday the 23rd in the afternoon.  It will work out great for Steve and not having to take time off of work for it.

Before that though, we have an appointment on Thursday the 19th for an ultrasound to make sure the amniotic fluid isn't too low and then right after that we will head over to the hospital to have a heartbeat test on the kiddo to make sure he isn't too stressed.  That should take only 30 minutes.  If either thing isn't right then they will send me to the hospital that day.

BUT we are hoping that this kid comes before all of that.  I gained 3lbs in 5 days....I've given up on being completely healthy since I am over due and still not to the weight I was when I had Aubrey.  And that was after being the same weight for 3 weeks in a row.

We are excited to have everything set and we can't wait to have this kid come!

Beard

I just have to put it out there, I LOVE my husband's beard.  It was weird at first, but after it grew out and softened up, it is really nice.  He's tried going back to just a goatee, but the way he has his head buzzed, it just doesn't look as good.  I love my husband to death and so happy that he his mine.

We were talking the other day about my labors and I have to hold his hand during contractions.  I can't hold the bar or the bed, it HAS to be his hand.  My thumb goes in the meaty part of his hand between his finger and thumb and after each pregnancy so far, he gets a really nice bruise.  I couldn't do that to anyone else except him.

He has been sick the last two days and it breaks my heart that there is nothing I can do to help him get over it.  It is noon and he is still sleeping.  He doesn't kiss me or come sit near me because he doesn't want me to get sick.  He is such a good man and I thought a post about how much I love him would be a good idea!

Love you hunny, though you are NEVER going to read this just thought I should say/write it!

Due Date

So here we are on the day that this baby is supposed to be here and nothing.  Not even a hint of him coming.  Oh well.  If I expect him to be late then my hopes won't be dashed.

I had a Doctor appointment yesterday and I am at a -1 or -2...whatever that means.  Dean is definitely head down, just not excited or ready to come out yet.  I haven't gained ANY weight in the last 3 appointments.  How weird is that?  So I am going to eat whatever I want now.  I am not over 200 lbs and I am happy, so I will do what I want.

We have everything ready, except for the to go bag.  I just don't have any motivation to pack one.  The bed is setup, the clothes out and washed and the carseat in the car.  The only thing missing is the baby and the kids are starting to notice.  Clayton keeps asking me when Baby Dean is coming, but I have to keep telling him whenever Dean is ready.  Steve has, right now, about 7 days off to take from work when this baby decides to arrive, but if Dean waits until after Martin Luther King, Jr. Day we get 2 1/2 more days.  So I kinda want Dean later, just so I get more home time with Steve, but at the same time I don't want to be any later.

On a more fun note, I sewed a couple of days ago.  Oh it felt so nice to do something crafty.  We've gotten everything out of storage that we are going to need for baby Dean, except a Hooter Hider.  We could not for the life of us find where I put ours.  So I made one!  WOO HOO!!  I found a really easy tutorial on line, picked out my fabric and all the extras and made one that is big enough for me and cute enough for me to use, PLUS  it was cheaper than going and buying one that wouldn't cover me and kiddo when feeding.   I'm going to miss being so crafty once this kid gets here.  I am pretty sure I am not going to have enough time to do all that I want to do.

I'm sure the whole world will know once this mini-Steve decides to get here.  Until then, here is hoping to labor coming soon!
