Ultrasound/NST

On Thursday I was a week late.  My doctor wanted to be safe and so he set us up with an ultrasound and a Non Stress Test.

The Ultrasound was just to check to make sure the water in my uterus was fine.  Since they were there, they also checked the umbilical cord beat to make sure all was well with that.  We regret to say that everything was fine and it looks like we have a healthy baby.  We say regret because if things weren't okay we would have gone and gotten induced that same day.

Next was the Non Stress Test.  What they do is hook those little heartbeat things around my tummy and watch the baby's heartbeat.  He has to have 2 accelerated heartbeats in 20 minutes.  I don't know why, but i guess that is good.  He did it perfectly AND kicked a lot!  The nurse says that we have one healthy happy baby!

So with all of this GOOD stuff we get to go home in our snow storm and wait for Mr. Dean to decide to show up or wait 'til Monday.  As we're sitting getting gas I start thinking about how Heavenly Father and this little guy MUST have a plan for when he is supposed to get here.  We had no power at our home and the road to and from our house was HORRIBLE.  Maybe their plan was to wait for all of this weather to pass so when Dean can come into the world it will be safer for him and for us.  No treacherous drive, no freezing nights, no wondering if the generator will last before the power can come back on.  Yes, I am 9 days late now and the power is back on, but roads are WORSE than what they were before and I had to do laundry before this little gets here.

All in all, everything is okay.  Monday is still our set date to go and get induced and if everything goes according to plan, Dean will be here on Tuesday the 24th, happy and healthy with a warm home to come home to.

Steve and I are ANXIOUSLY waiting, but we feel this is good.  I don't want to be induced, but Steve likes the finality of it and I just want to meet this little man, who from our ultrasound picture on Thursday looks like he has a Wilcox nose.  I just want to know!  I will keep you all updated as best as I can.  From what I hear, going from 2 to 3 kids is REALLY hard.  But I can't wait for that adventure to begin!
